And there ain’t no words I know of Can prepare you for this kinda pain It’s like a month of overcast Mondays, and you’re Caught in the thunder and the rain Pretty soon the cost of everyone you’ve lost Will be equal to the people you’ve gained And we’re all, wasting time down a one big line Between the welcome sign and the grave You wake up just right to see the morning light But it hits you like the crashing of the waves You call god but his telephones off Saying why am I lost Why do you take as many people as you save You feel weak so you try to eat a meal Try you best feel something other than your mother slippin away And we’re all, wasting time down a one big line Between the welcome sign and the grave So you drive out to your friends house Try to pour your heart out Hoping one of them can ease the pain And you, cry tears and you laugh and you drink some beers, and then after it all you gotta face up to that grief again Then you, lay your head down Try to pretend now She never died and nothing’s changed We’re all, wasting time down a one big line Between the welcome sign and the grave And we’re all, wasting time down a one big line Between the welcome sign and the grave And we’re all, wasting time down a one big line Between the welcome sign and the grave Lewis, be brave.

Heavy As 02:57
You said, what can I tell you about life mate I can tell you it’s too short But water the plants and they might grow straight And we all die when the winter comes
You don’t l know that wisdom comes too late And nothing grows from hate You know that love is the only way
And I love you with my whole heart And heavy as that sounds it’s not I love you with my whole heart And heavy as that sounds it’s not
You said what will you do when we’re long gone son. Well you’ll start this thing again One day you’ll say this to your own son God spares you and Evelyn And don’t you ever lie in bed too late Don’t make the morning wait Don’t let this love ever go to waste
And I love you with my whole heart And heavy as that sounds it’s not (ooohhhh) I love you with my whole heart And heavy as that sounds it’s not

about

Lewis, Be Brave

And there ain’t no words I know of
Can prepare you for this kinda pain
It’s like a month of overcast Mondays, and you’re
Caught in the thunder and the rain
Pretty soon the cost of everyone you’ve lost
Will be equal to the people you’ve gained
And we’re all, wasting time down a one big line
Between the welcome sign and the grave

You wake up just right to see the morning light
But it hits you like the crashing of the waves
You call god but his telephones off
Saying why am I lost
Why do you take as many people as you save

You feel weak
so you try to eat a meal
Try you best feel
something other than your mother slippin away
And we’re all, wasting time down a one big line
Between the welcome sign and the grave

So you drive out to your friends house
Try to pour your heart out
Hoping one of them can ease the pain
And you, cry tears and you laugh and you drink some beers,
and then after it all you gotta face up to that grief again
Then you, lay your head down
Try to pretend now
She never died and nothing’s changed

We’re all, wasting time down a one big line
Between the welcome sign and the grave
And we’re all, wasting time down a one big line
Between the welcome sign and the grave
And we’re all, wasting time down a one big line
Between the welcome sign and the grave
Lewis, be brave.

Mike Halls on Heavy As:

“Me and my dad are standing on my balcony overlooking Liverpool after a night out together. He takes a drag on his cigarette and says: ‘Imagine you make this tiny baby who’s so premature he fights to stay alive for weeks. Then one day you buy that kid a guitar, and watch him get better and better. Then you go to his graduation, see him marry the love of his life, sign a record deal and play a sold out Royal Albert Hall. And now you’re standing in a flat he bought from writing songs...sounds heavy doesn’t it?’ he says, taking another drag, ‘...it’s not!’. That night after he fell asleep I wrote this song.”
